One question I have to ask is about the edges of the hole - could you toch them? Were they smooth, jagged? Was the hole round or did it have corners?
If you didn't actually touch the edges, I'd suggest that perhaps with the lack of light in the room you thought that your hand was where the wall should be, when you were actually waving away from the wall.
As for your brother experienceing the same thing, I'd suggest that perhaps he first experienced this and then, because of him telling you about his experience, you had preconceptions...
I'm just trying to apply Occam's razor here. Is it really more likely that there was actually a strange portal that appeared only at night time within reach of a child's bed than the children having active imaginations? |

I would suggest you go back there during the same time of the year with a camera and record some footage of it. I know I would, or at least get some professionals in to.
The air conditioner...could the EM field possibly have effected you and made you experience this as a dellusion?
It sounds very interesting, but like Otik...I would favour the mundane until you have some form of evidence.
Get some! It's important! |

The hole is bizarre, that's for sure.
I have one question though....didn't your parents mind you kids sleeping in their bedroom every night throughout the summer? How did they....ummmm..you know...? A couple has to have some privacy! |

Oh dear! You don't know what you are asking me here!!!! I'm not scared of the black hole, what I'm scared of is summer time in South America!!! (mosquitoes, human botflies, giant and very hungry-angry insects, human melting temperatures, skin-burning sunrays, semi-decomposed animals/drunken men/hoboes left on the streets, black-outs, no water for days, even chupacabras have been seen around in the region!!!!!)
We now live across the ocean, and is not cheap to travel to this lost location. We go about once every 2 years, but depends on many things really. Since we left we've never adventured there on summer time again. Also (and this is a very good reason) because the ticket price comes down half price in winter But hey, I'll consider it ... I know it is important!
Redhead, sure you are cheeky!!!!! Anyway, my parents became asexual a while after I was born ... Besides, the only air conditioner in the house was on their bedroom, and we could not afford another one so we had to share.
Otik, the hole had edges, rounded edges. I did noticed them the time I adventured myself in the most. I put my head and one arm in, while the other arm was holding me against the wall right next to the edge of the hole.
I must say that it would have been difficult to wave my hand away from the wall and touch nothing but air, unless I'd be lying on my back and throwing my hands to the air on top of my head. See, we were kind of crowded in there (wardrobe on my left and bedside table on my right). I'm sure space-wise it must have been worst for my brother since he was bigger and taller.

If this theory be true it would have to be the other way round, since the 1st one experiencing the hole was me. See, about 2 or 3 years after the first incident, a "proper bed" was introduced on the bedroom so I often asked my brother if we could trade places (I also wanted to sleep on the bed!) and that's how my brother found the hole too. Funny enough, we never actually "talked about it" until a couple of years ago, when we moved together. The subject came one night following some fortean recolection of events I never knew he experienced in that house. When we were children we would merely mention to each other that there was a funny wee hole on the wall, nothing more. |

Isn't it! These are the kind of articles and stories that got me into this whole business (no pun, well maybe a bit) in the first place.
What's with some of the posters being called "Anonymous", when subsequent quotes clearly show that they had usernames at some point - did they get sucked into the gateway? |

Weird here, ain't it?!
The MB has been through various technical traumas over the years, and several posters got lost in the process. (Some of them may have been deliberate deserters, however.) If their posts remain, the posters have been renamed 'anonymous'. Perhaps a Mod could enlighten us further....? |

True. Oddly enough, I seem to have become my husband (at least as far as the FTMB login is concerned). |
