I felt I had to revive this thread after something my friend told me at lunch time today.

My friend, let's call her J, one morning this week had a vivid dream that she was talking to her stepdaughter Erin. She and Erin had always had a rocky relationship and they hadn't had much to do with each other for some years.

In the dream, Erin said she loved J, and and J hugged Erin and said she loved her too. J felt deeply happy at the reconciliation.

At that point, J woke up and opened her eyes to see something hovering above her head, only inches away. Her first thought was 'what the f*ck is that?' and it started to float away up to the ceiling in the manner of a soap bubble. She jumped out of bed to get a closer look, but as it reached the ceiling above the door it just vanished.

J said the thing looked like a kind of geometric flower shape, as if drawn by a Spirograph. Lots of translucent layers, a bit jellyfish-like. She didn't mention colour or sound - I guess I should ask her about that.

I mention this here on this thread because it sounds spookily similar to the original poster's experience. Has me flummoxed - I have no explanation for it.

Edit: Today, my friend gave me further details about the 'thing':
She gave me this link and said it looked a bit like this (but with less colour):

http://ih1.redbubble.net/image.9181649.4588/flat,800x800,070,f.jpg
She says what she saw was a thin, black latticework of petals, with the inside of the petals being translucent and shimmery, like a jellyfish...

More stuff: J also mentioned that the previous weekend, she'd attended a meeting of a 'spiritual awareness group', where they'd worked on the 7 standard chakras of the body. J thinks she may have seen something to do with a 'soul star chakra'.

If its any help, that is very similar to what I see when I have an Ocular Migraine. It tends to start in the middle of my vision and gradually spread out to the edges, then it disappears. It doesn't happen very often, but the first time was very disturbing as I didn't know what on earth was going on!

Shocked

I had one of those hypnotic regressions a few years ago. At the end of the 'life' that I apparently re-experienced, (can you tell that I'm sceptical? Wink ) I looked up and saw something very similar to the shape above, with the shimmering petals and lovely colours, the rings of petals spinning in different directions. Absolutely beautiful.

I was drawn up into it, and that's how I 'died'. It was very peaceful. Cool

Renew! Renew! Laughing

Well, everything else I saw and felt during the regression came from books, TV and films, strongly influenced by various readings and dramatisations of Far From The Madding Crowd.

Sadly, Terence Stamp didn't make a rampaging appearance. You'd think my subconscious'd've swung that for me. Sad

These things sound very like the "Thought-forms" which were the subject of an illustrated book by Annie Besant and Charles Leadbeater:

I see there is a thread about it here

Fortunately, the link in the first post is still functioning and the whole book is available for free. Smile
