Did it make any sounds?
My big fear has always been beetroot. Saw a classmate throw a load up when we were about 8 and the sight of it has alarmed me ever since.
Over the years I've mainly managed to avoid it, which was difficult in Poland where they love the stuff, but yesterday I was presented with a plate of braised beetroot and carrots for lunch.
Decided to eat the stuff, as it was highly spiced and probably didn't taste as lurid as it looked, and anyway I couldn't see it with my eyes closed.
Got the stuff down with a bit of effort. DEAD 'ard, me. |

You have nothing to fear from Roman Polanski once you're past your early teens... |

| I cannot walk over a grid/grate or other kind of metal cover plate set into a roadway or footpath/sidewalk without feeling absolutely nauseated and a bit dizzy. I always have to walk around them. |

You're right to avoid them. I fell down one a few years ago, caused horrendous bruising. Lucky not to have broken both legs* in the 7' drop to the concrete culvert below.
I walk around them now!
A while ago there was a photo going round of a bloke who fell down a grid in the pavement while trying to retrieve a lighter with his feet. Could be you! Could be me!
*serious injury averted by my large behind jamming in the hole |

I cannot walk on grass in bare feet or sandals etc. Even in closed in shoes I am uncomfortable with standing still for any length of time, or sitting at a picnic table if there is grass underneath me. Seems to apply to proper lawns, as I am quite fine when bush walking. I think it stems from when our poor old dog got sick when I was a child, and had chronic diarrhoea, and I couldn't walk in the backyard for fear of treading in something. Poor little Scotty had developed stomach cancer and in the end had to be put down.
To a lesser degree, if in a restaurant or cafe, I usually grab a seat that faces the door, and feel uncomfortable if I don't get one. Not sure of the origins of this one, but it pre-dates the 10 years I lived in a town with well known mafia connections. |

Me too. Never thought of it as a phobia, just me being weird. No mafia connections where I live either, it just makes me uncomfortable if I have my back to too many people. |

There is a certain shade of purple/blue that we have on a light box at work that i cannot bear to look at it makes me feel nauseous and weirdly makes my head "fizz" !
When i was younger i also had a strange aversion to Ferrero Rocher, to the point where i couldn't even walk past them in the supermarket, just the thought of those plastic boxes opening and the smell wafting out makes me shudder even now! bleurgh |

At a time when I was very stressed about a tough work situation I developed a very strong phobia about peanuts and tree nuts - specifically that if I ate anything that contained even a trace of them that i could have an allergic reaction and go into anaphylactic shock.
I was at home on a friday evening, eating chicken satay and the thought floated into my head
"You might have an allergic reaction to this, lots of people do..."
It was very difficult, I lost a lot of weight because I really couldn't eat very many things in case they were "contaminated" (basically anything that said "Cannot guarantee nut-free on the packaging").
The whole time this went on I knew that it was totally irrational and that I HAVE NO ALLERGIES, but it made absolutely no difference to the panic I felt.
It slowly went away (mostly) after I left the bad work situation, though it still crops up very mildly on occasion. |

| If eating something and I get either a trace of egg shell or a hair in the food I instantly gag and can't eat anything for a couple of hours afterwards. Not sure if its irrational but it is over the top. |
