I forgot to ask for a free gift. They have taken my order, or at least credited THE CARD.
So, I can't hardly wait to see what turns up... |

What I don't quite understand, is a computer database that disappears an order once it has 'gone into the system'.
What sort of fookin' useless piece of shit is that? |

Ever since the sale was announced the week before last, I've rung a number of times in an attempt to place an order only to be told that the individual magazines and collected volumes 'aren't in the system yet'. I've just rang again and discovered that only a handful of magazines and only one FT volume are available - so, it looks like the vast majority of magazines/volumes were never available (in which case why are they still up on the website?) or they have been available and have subsequently sold out (in which case why have I continually been told that they weren't yet available?). Could someone please clarify just what the state of affairs is? |

Yeah Same for me! I only needed two of the collected vlomues. Rang nearly everyday last week to be told they weren't on the system and rang at 9:05 this morning and all the collected volumes bar one were gone!
I suspect they never even had them for sale.
Very very disappointed. |

OK, there appears to have been a major screw-up by the warehouse people taking the calls on this.
Many people have said that they have tried to buy the collected back issue books via the sale phoneline, only to be told that the books either weren't on the system or had simply sold out.
What seems to have happened is that the people at the warehouse hadn't put the books on the system for some reason and didn't even seem to realise that these were books rather than back issues!
I don't quite understand how this happened, but the situation has now apparantly been rectified. So, you should be able to get all the bound collections of back issues that you want.
Any further problems, please let me know asap

I've just phoned.
The collected issue books still aren't on the system, apparently.
I've only managed to order Snakes Alive, Fortean Studies Vol 1&2 and Lo!, so far.
The guy I talked to said, maybe the collected issues have already sold out?
I've been trying to place a whole order, since the 23rd of march.
I'd still like to get my hands on the other 8 collected issue books, so i would. |

If the collected issues are actually still around then yes, I want the whole kaboodle as well (as all my back issues were sacrificed a few years back to the great god of moving house .) |

Thanks Owen.
They're selling Fortean Studies as well? Does that include Vol 7? |

I have been in contact with the warehouse and they have confirmed that they definitely have the collected issues in stock. The problem seems to be that the phone sales staff are ill-informed. So I can only suggest that if your salesperson insists that there is no stock you ask to speak directly with their manager.
Sorry it's come to this!

Thanks, Alistair!
I just put my order in before you posted this (9 back issues), and was told the Collected Issues were NOT in stock... so I phoned again and ordered 4 of them.
£3.50 each with postage - the postage is the same despite me having to make 2 orders. But I got 2 free gifts out of it |

Yeah, I can confirm it's sorted now (the sales staff now have the collected issues on the system.) Get 'em now, while they're hot!

Right. I should have ordered all the collected issues now, except for 'Strange Attractors', which apparently really is out of stock. And a free gift... which is nice.
Because I live in Europe, they seem to send all the books out, individually. Which should make things interesting. |
