This is a suggestion for Posters who wish to place spoilers in their Posts.
In the past Posters have usually used 'white' as in: [color=white]Spoiler Text[/color]. However, that's not really successful, especially against the darker background.
So, here are two Hexadecimal colors to try.
[color=#E8E8EA]Spoiler Text[/color] for the lighter background of a Post
and
[color=#D0D1D5]Spoiler Text[/color] for the darker background
These work with the standard FTMB colour scheme, with Firefox, on my computer. They may show up differently with different colour schemes.

Edit: Added word 'camouflage' to Thread title and this edit note. P_M

I thought of suggesting this myself. However, the potential problem with this is not being sure of which of the alternating shades your post is going to fall on, particularly with a busy thread. The only real way I can see this happening is with if you post a more generalised post first and then go back and edit it with the relevant hex code.
Failing that, why isn't [spoiler] implemented on this board in the first place? I've seen both template and CSS hacks available for this elsewhere. |

It's not perfect, I know, but for potential spoilers, it might be worth using one colour, checking to see if it works, on Thread and if it's the wrong colour, doing a quick edit.
Why, no spoiler tags? One of the great mysteries, like why don't the URL tags automatically resize long URLS. I wish I knew. |

| ...cos it's #357 on our wish list of modifications, which we have to pass onto our gracious hosts. Given the rate at which these requests are expedited, all should be ship-shape in about six or seven years, tops. |

The actual maintenance and implementation of the board, is this done by an unpaid volunteer like with the moderation or is Ali paid by either FT or Dennis to do this?
Is the lack of [SPOILER] global to all Dennis sites? |

In days of yore admin and mods could do most of it for ourselves, but had a board that needed regular kicking and kept falling over at midnight, every night.

AFAIC, a spoiler WARNING would be enough for me, then I could just stop reading.
Example...
*****WARNING, spoiler alert!!!******
Do not read further if.... |

I'm sorry, Rynner, but answering your question would violate someone's human rights, so I decline.
Btw, the butler did it. |

This is the sticky Thread about colour tags for spoilers, to make them invisible.
There is no special 'spoiler' tag, unfortunately. |

About 2 years, apparently.
The idea was for people to use different colours to disguise text when giving away important plot details, or the endings of TV, movies and novels. |
