I'm happy to talk about my 2009 orang-pendek expedition. Looks like i might be going after the deathworm again this year.
Colin Wilson would be great.
Irish fortean Ronan Coghlan would be great, he's hugley entertaining and can talk about anything.
Dr Lars Thomas from Denmark. He's a mne of info on Scandinavian cryptids. Losts of stuff never seen in the English speaking world.
How about some fortean who has not lectured in the West before, some one from Japan, China or Russia. A couple of years back we had Gregory Panchenko from the Ukraine, he was amazing. |

| Is there going to be an Uncon this year? I missed the last one, wouldn't mind attending the next one! |

It's early days and we weren't expecting to be doing an UnCon until the spring of 2011, but it might just happen.
Feel free to post your suggestions for speakers and other stuff here - let's get the ball rolling... |

I'd like to see an UnCon outside London.
While I realise London is easy to get to it is a bit expensive, especially if you have a long way to travel.
I nominate my home town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire. It has a reputation as a conference centre, is easy to get to being close to both Leeds and York (a Fortean place if there ever was one) and while it is expensive by Yorkshire standards, it is still cheaper than the capital.
Perhaps the next UnCon could take over (part of?) a hotel for the weekend, like many other conventions do. This would allow for more socialising between and after talks, especially if there is a bar.
This would allow for other things like a Big Forten Dinner (toad-in-the-hole anyone?).

UnCon outside London is something we've toyed with on previous occasions. I think it will happen, but not this year as we have so little time to organise.
Possible dates are now looking like one of the weekends straddling Hallowe'en:
October 23-24
Or
November 6-7
Any thoughts, preferences, questions? |

Big preference for the 23rd / 24th of October - I'm on holiday immediately before hand so that will make getting down easier and Saturday the 6th of November wanting to go and see Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson in concert!

| OK Gordon, we'll plan UnCon around Rick and Jon's no doubt full diary - are there any other prog legends we should take into consideration at this point? |
