No, it is actually a real flying toy thing, as you can tell from the unspectacular hard landing at the end of the vid. I believe it was a 'proof of concept' design by some uni types. No practical application for such a device beyond a plaything, but interesting all the same. |

Is it just me who, until they read the last sentence of McAvennie's post, thought he was referring to the streetlamps..? |

TBH when I looked at the pic I first noticed the streetlight and it took me a few moments to realise what it was, and then I thought "what are those people doing standing on the roof of that building", then I noticed the planes! |

| I thought it was the streetlamps first of all, too! Then, after reading the last posts (and clearly not having read McAvennie's!), I saw the two small fighters, and only now, as I was about to post this reply, have I noticed the people on the roof or the enormous 4-engined plane half-hidden behind the trees on the right! |

I thought it myself when I posted it but presumed the intellectual elite that peruses this forum would not need such basic signposts to what they were meant to be looking at |

Nice. I'm particularly impressed with the 'cypher' (which I looked for but couldn't remember it's name) and the 'flying peanut', and that dirigible is sooo cute! |

| Whatever happened to the traditional "things that are not UFOs" from my youth? Do people still see the big three, by which I mean flocks of geese illuminated at night, lenticular clouds, and a car's headlights hitting a low level overcast sky? And if not, why not? |

I reckon people still see these things but dont misidentify them as often as they used to.
Misidentification still happens though. The blimp at night, lit from the inside, is currently on another thread as an example. |
