I think pieces of people ending up in other people is as old as explosive/propellant driven weapons, if not older. Never considered that it could be a biohazard, though.

Not to mention the many old stories of foreign invaders catapulting plague-infected bodies over castle or city walls.

This reminds me of the old story about the girl who was inpregnated when a bullet passed through a soldier's scrotum and hit her.
