It would. I have seen it put to good use elsewhere, giving access to forums on mobile devices that don't usually support this sort of site. Unfortunately, advanced support for the FTMB forum tends to be a bit patchy.

In all seriousness, it would be good. I occasionally use my iphone to access the board and it isn't at all convenient.
The FTMB is - technically speaking an abandoned project - the only 'innovations' to have been visited upon it in recent years are those that facilitate forms of advertising. The shame of it is that - having spoken to techies - all the things that need fixing and updating here could be dealt with in a very short space of time. |

If you had witnessed the whole saga (going back several years now) of botched changeovers, bugs, intrusive ads and non-existent upgrades, you would probably have detected a very mild yet resolutely on-topic satire to my ostensibly silly post. |

I know. My current computer doesn't have one. The old one did, until it broke one day. It tried to close automatically during a reboot while I had a cup of tea in it. |

Sorry to rake up an old thread but is there any chance that Tapatalk support could be added? Its a brilliant app and I'm sure many people like me are migrating away from desktop and laptop machines to tablets and smart phones. I enjoy lurking here having read FT for over 20 years. It would be a shame for such a wealth of Fortean data slip away into message board obscurity...
So, c'mon grasp the modern t'interweb and open up FT to a whole new world of tapatalk using tablet wielding subscribers. Even if it does only turn out to be the proper thing to wear, for a while.
Paul. |

No.
I'll qualify that. If you saw the sheer size of the list of bugs and glitches that I keep trying to get fixed, let alone add-ons, you probably wouldn't believe it.
Half of them, tapatalk included, won't even work on this version of phpBB - I'm on at them to upgrade to 3.0, which would sort a raft of problems and make it all much more modifiable, but until this happens we're stuck with this glitchy, very un-modifiable version of the board.
Sorry. |
