My end of the world dream from last night. There's no aliens or apocalyptic gruesomeness, just a lot of uneasiness about something very big that has happened somewhere else.

I'm in Scotland or somewhere in the far north of England, nowhere recogniseable, but I'm there with my wife, daughter and parents, and we're visiting some kind of museum or similar. There are lots of children around, on schools visits and suchlike

We split up and I find myself on the street with my dad. We walk past a church were children and teachers are streaming out into the street. Some of the children are crying, and I get the impression that this is happening all over the town. There's a bad feeling in the air, something's wrong. On asking what's happened we hear that some of the children have 'disappeared' and noone knows what's happened to them.

I immediately think of my daughter who has gone off with one of these groups of children, and start to try and locate her. The uneasiness grows into a kind of 9-11 panic with distressed people everywhere. My dad reacts by getting excessively calm and fatalistic and wants to give up looking, actually sits down on a hill - very out of character. So I continue back to the museum alone where I find a group of children sitting on the floor, lined up, waiting for further instructions. I call out for my daughter and think I've found her for a moment. But it's someone else, so I ask if anyone's seen here and someone says that's she's been assigned the number 6 and 'paired off' with another girl whose number is 12. This seems to indicate that some kind of government protocol has kicked-in to respond to a growing emergency.

I check my phone for information, but find that 'GOOGLE IS SUSPENDED'. This seems very ominous indeed and I get very worried. The dream ends about there.

Relax, there are other search engines. Not the end of the world. Wink

That sounds like a scary dream, right enough.

Good replies, tee hee! Yeah, I suppose if the message was ALL SEARCHES SUSPENDED OVER ALL SITES or similar it could have been spookier.

The Prisoner reference is right on. It did occur to me since I'm a major fan of the series. Having played Number 6 onstage many years ago, it certainly has a special relevance, but I didn't cotton directly onto The Schizoid Man, probably as it's not one of my fave episodes.!
