Ooh! Err! Easy up, ladies, or I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave the snug. | Those were the days it was worth watching. |

Nuts Magazine? There's a magazine for squirrels with mental health problems? I wish to read it! |

My husband* saw my FT lying about and said "That's ghastly, she looks like she's been raped".
*and he's not even female, just a big woosy Guardian reader.

Mmm, hostas. Beak's hostas.
When I saw the cover I thought 'Gratuitous nekkid/injured young female, how pathetic, I'm not remotely interested in how they've managed to shoehorn that image into a piece of serious journalism.' So I didn't bother to connect it to a story or even read the words on the cover.
Perhaps the picture was intended to titillate male readers, but you have female ones too, and anyway surely most men would be insulted by the idea that they'd be attracted by such an image.
Why can't we discuss the fraudulent vampire kits? |

What if He Who Must Not Be Mentioned Here is correct and His Church is The True One? |

Some of us prefer to wait for the next issue, and not the one after! |

Mine's arrived!
Hunt Emerson's doing a bio series on Kenneth Anger. Also looking forward to reading about poltergeists, levitation and the possible burial place of Joseph or Arimethea. Looks like another good issue.
Not sure, if I was a casual magazine buyer, that the cover would attract me enough to take this issue off the shelf in a newsagents. Looks like an advert for a Scandinavian crime series. |

| There's nowt wrong with a Scandinavian crime series! I am thoroughly enjoying The Bridge! (Although slightly baffled by it all!) |

Cover aside, good issue this one (got a soft spot for polts, me.) I think the mag's starting to find itself again a bit.
As for He Who Must Not Be Named, I propose a glass of strong ale in memory of closed (but not deleted) threads. If you wish to join me in a raised Bishop's Finger, feel free.
I'm aware that will baffle many, but there's plenty of us who remember exactly what it's all about... if you're curious, PM me. |

Last week, they had, Shepherd Neame Brewery's Bishop's Finger and Spitfire, on special offer at the local Lidl, again. Have to say, two of the best British bottled beers that I've ever come across. In fact, Spitfire, is one of the finest example of an English bitter that I've ever tasted.
It must be the Kentish hops. |
