Couple jailed after letting 40 teens film them having sex in public
A drunken couple have been jailed after 'playing to an audience' by allowing a crowd of up to 40 teenagers to film them having sex in public.

A judge branded Jacqueline Holden, 37, and Sam Rowan, 22, "disgusting" after their actions in and outside one of the UK's busiest transport stations, Barnsley Interchange, last month.

The pair, who had been drinking heavily throughout the day, performed for a group of youngsters while they filmed them having oral sex on their mobile phones, with Rowan even looking to the crowd for praise as Holden lay on the ground.

Barnsley Magistrates' Court heard how passers-by were shocked to see them carry out their acts despite being moved on several times shortly after 9.20pm.
Chantel Lowery Green, prosecuting, said: "Rowan was looking around and wanted the growing crowd to know what was going on - they both played to the audience.
"Holden then lay on the floor and Rowan had oral sex with her."

Rowan and Holden, both from Barnsley in Yorkshire, admitted outraging public decency and were jailed for 10 weeks.

Holden had denied any wrongdoing after her arrest and insisted that she would never have been bold enough to have sex in public.
Philip Howard, defending, said the couple had been drinking heavily and were later 'horrified' about what they got up to.
Mr Howard said normally Holden would have called the police if she had seen another couple having oral sex in public.

The court were also told that Rowan suffers from Asperger's Syndrome and has other problems that affect his social skills.

District Judge John Foster said: "You both engaged in open sexual contact outside and inside the interchange in front of a crowd you were encouraging.
"The interchange is probably the busiest place in the town and the description of your behaviour has been absolutely disgusting. This demands a deterrent."

I was disappointed relieved to see the article was illustrated by only an aerial view of the station. Sad

The headline asserts 40 teenagers but the sub-heading says "up to 40." Anything from one to forty then? The size of the crowd is not specified. If forty were teenagers, how big was the crowd? Not so large as to obscure the view of those blameless "passers-by" who were "shocked." Did they all have their phones out playing Hitchcock or just the teenagers? I'd be more dismayed by the adults!

There are some atrocious ambiguities in the report, such as "The pair, who had been drinking heavily throughout the day, performed for a group of youngsters while they filmed them having oral sex on their mobile phones . . . " Juggling? Rolling Eyes

Much the same report appears in The Sun, where the comments reveal the mindset of the readers, who surely are not all teenagers:

"Barnsley girls really are filthy!

I had one in some bushes in the early hours on a roundabout in Barnsley town centre after a few too many, maybe this was the same girl?."

Hard to get a good establishing shot in the bushes of a roundabout, I always find.
