This reminds me of some funny stuff I had with a very large spider the other day.
I had a mattress on the lounge floor, that I'd been using to rest on after using my treadmill... later on, I was sitting in my armchair and I see this really big spider climb up the side of the mattress. I see him, and...he sees me! That darned spider starts making a beeline towards me!

I get up and move away to get the vacuum cleaner. I try to suck him into the cleaner, and each time he seems to disappear and then reappear somewhere else. Finally, I suck him up - or it seems that way. The weird thing is, I'm not entirely sure I did get him, as I didn't actually see him go into the vacuum cleaner pipe.
I checked under the mattress and everywhere around, and didn't see him, so I made the assumption that I'd got him.

But there's still this nagging doubt in my mind... Shocked

I wouldn't capture a spider in a vacuum cleaner in case it was a female about to lay eggs. The old glass and postcard trick is the best way. Or bucket and newspaper, depending on the size.

No problem, I can just chuck the vacuum cleaner bag in the bin.
But...I'm fairly sure this one was a male - he had really big pedipalps next to his mouth.

I usually take spiders outside but as we had a few flies inside that must have come in with the washing, when we went away a few weeks ago we left it there.
It had been around for a few weeks before we left so we thought it would have enough to eat.
However when we came back there was no sign of it, even with the wet weather that usually brings any out. No dead body or anything.
Maybe it missed us and teleported out looking for us? Laughing

Ah, there's the drawback of a bagless vacuum cleaner in a nutshell.

When I've rehoused my tarantulas, I've sometimes had to sue a catch cup,, and if you don't put it down quick enough, they squeeze through tiny gaps. Coupled with the fact that Tegeneria species move fast, it might look like teleporting.

I like this thread.had way too many impossible things happen,i've just accepted we have no clue about this world.i really love the odd hour I can watch tv,and pretend all is normal.i've never told anyone about the giant 2 ft spiders I saw several times running across my bedroom wall.i know they weren't solid, and would melt through the wall.i didn't know then, that some really nasty people had "plans" for me.authorities moved me. but,the strangest thing,i can't even believe myself,my cat I was watching through glass,a sudden yelp he appeared midair above my sofa, and dropped onto it.he was fine.it will never be believed, and I cannot ask him about it.someone is showing us advanced physics maybe?
