If it's any consolation, I'm not getting some notifications (and I'm supposed to get notified about heaps of stuff, whether I actually need to be or not.)

fair enough ... i have rediscovered the view topics since last login link ... was that removed/reinstated ? because i used to hit it all the time then i think i must have got out of the habit ...
