LB 16-27 is playing games again - about 50 minutes ago she turned to port, and then after a short while to starboard, then to starboard again, and finally to port, to resume her course up the north Cornwall coast! There's hardly any other traffic around, and no hazards to navigation there, so there seems no point in these manoeuvres.
She's now coming up level with Newquay, about 10 NM off the coast. |

LB 16-27 is just past Trevose Head, and seems to be carrying on to the river Camel itself, But the tide is falling - it's 2 hours to low water. Which makes it all the stranger that she should have wasted time earlier.
1743: Entering the river...
1751: She seems to have got over the Doom Bar (luckily it's calm weather).
But I'm not sure why she's in the river at all - the LB station is actually out on Trevose Head.
1758: She's come to a stop, just off St Saviour's Point, just north of Padstow. Could she be aground..? But it's a neap tide so there should be enough water. Perhaps there's a mooring there. |

I don't suppose there'll be any more movement tonight.
But LB 16-27 is a Tamar class boat and...
so I suppose the crew could get ashore and enjoy a drink or two!
Cheers!
PS: That wiki page reveals that 16-27 is the Mumbles LB (Mumbles is near Swansea), so presumably she'll she'll be on the home leg tomorrow. |

Another surprise - LB 16-27 seems not to be in Padstow anymore, but AIS says she's out of range. Has she sailed already, or is everything just switched off? (Hiding from Customs, maybe... ) |

LB 16-27 magically reappears in Padstow! (So presumably her AIS was turned off last night.)
Sea Ruby begins a new voyage: and right now she's passing Padstow! She left Port Talbot in the wee small hours, and is bound for Teignmouth, south Devon, ETA tomorrow 1300 BST. (I think this will be the first ship visit to Teignmouth on this thread.)
Fehn Cartagena arrived at Rostock less than an hour ago, having left the Kiel Canal about 2300 last night. |

Quiet weather in Cornwall, and neap tides, so quite a few fishing vessels out around the Lizard.
I thought at first glance the Lizard LB was off its slipway, but in fact it is the MTS Grey Bear, from Falmouth. (Both vessels have the same light-blue icon in MT.) I guess Grey bear is either delivering some stores, or acting as a work-platform for some maintenance, perhaps involving divers. |

| MTS Grey Bear has disappeared off AIS. Has she gone home, or switched off? |

Girl, 3, falls into the River Mersey from 'top deck of a ferry'
A toddler has been rescued from the River Mersey after she fell from the top deck of a ferry, Liverpool Coastguard says.
A Mersey Ferries crew member dived in when the three year old was swept under the landing stage at Seacombe Ferry Terminal at about 14:30 BST.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust said the girl was conscious and breathing and was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on Merseyside with a cut head.
Mersey Ferries has suspended services.
A spokeswoman said: "We have suspended ferry sailings for the remainder of the day following an incident which saw a passenger entering the water.
"Emergency services were called to the scene and are working to establish the circumstances around the incident. The Marine Accident Branch has been informed."
Liverpool Coastguard said it was "aware of the incident" and was "investigating the situation that a child fell overboard into the water".
A spokesperson said: "The mate, a male crew member, on the ferry recovered her back to shore and she was taken to hospital.
"She was three years old. She was on a Mersey Ferry boat, we believe she was on the top deck. The ferry was alongside the landing stage at the time."
According to tide tables, it would have been low tide at the time of the incident.

Surfing's a big maritime activity in Cornwall, so this RIP belongs here:
Surfer's 'wonderful zest' for life
A man from St Agnes who made surfboards for some of the sport's highest profile stars has died.
Peter "Chops" Lascelles, 60, was at the forefront of the surfing industry, helping to develop brands like Rip Curl and Billabong in the UK.
He shaped surfboards for Nat Young, Mickey Dora, Michael Demont and Ben Skinner.
Mr Lascelles, who was originally from Australia, competed for England in the Surfing World Championships.
Although he was born in Queensland, Mr Lascelles came to Cornwall in the early 1970s.
His first stop was Perranporth where he worked as a lifeguard.
Soon after, he set up his own business in St Agnes, shaping and selling surfboards.
In a 2005 interview for the Daily Telegraph, Mr Lascelles said: "On one surf trip to Morocco I was told that there was great surf in Cornwall.
"I came over and fell in love with the place. When the weather's good, it's just about the prettiest place in the world."
He once estimated he had shaped more than 20,000 boards in his career.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Lascelles on his Facebook page.
Lin Hendy said: "He had such a wonderful zest for living I'm sure he "lived" far more than those of us who may last many more years."
Phil Jarratt said: "Chops was always fun to be around, surfer/shaper/bon vivant/good spirit. He will be missed by so many."

Falmouth RNLI crew called to 'very apologetic' owner of speed boat that ran out of fuel
10:30am Monday 14th October 2013 in News .
The 'very apologetic' owner of a speedboat had to be helped back to shore by Falmouth RNLI after running out of fuel at sea on Sunday.
Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat launch to assist a 19ft speed boat which had run out of fuel while crossing Gerrans Bay during a passage from Mevagissey to Mylor.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 3.27pm and having rounded Zone Point headed up to the east arriving on scene at 3.40pm. The speed boat, which had two adults and two dogs on board, had dropped its anchor so this was recovered before the boat was taken in tow back to Mylor.
An RNLI spokesman said: "The speed boat had been on a day trip to Mevagissey where they had been unable to obtain any fuel so had headed back along the coast towards Portscatho. Unfortunately they ran out of fuel shortly before they reached the harbour, forcing them to drop their anchor and advise the coastguard of their predicament.
"The coastguard put out a broadcast requesting assistance from any other vessels in the area but had no offers of assistance so eventually the decision was made to task the inshore lifeboat.
"The speed boat was well equipped and the owner was grateful for the assistance and very apologetic."

At least the 'well equipped' speedboat had an anchor. But a spare can of fuel would have been useful... |

Sea Ruby is in Teignmouth.
Islay Trader is still shuttling up and down the Thames.
Fehn Cartagena is leaving Rostock for some place called FREDEQIKSVAEQK (apparently),
which may be in Denmark. |

Fehn Cartagena is in the Oresund, Denmark, heading north, maybe towards Helsingborg.
But the MarineTraffic website (due to be revamped), is already showing changes. I may find myself logged out, and have to re-join...
I said this morning "Sea Ruby is in Teignmouth": actually, she was anchored off, and did not enter harbour until this afternoon's high tide.
Balmoral left Madeira this evening.
Minka C left Livorno this afternoon.
That might be all until I get to grips with the new website. |

| I suspect I'm in limbo with MT atm - as I was already logged in, it's giving me limited functionality. But after I close down tonight, when I try to log on tomorrow, I may have to go back to square one, and re-register... |

| But for now, I'm still tracking Fehn Cartagena, and she has passed the narrows at Helsingborg (which is on the Swedish side). |
