Hi guys, ok, no suggestion at all that this pic is 'ghostly', but as it has caused so much interest and discussion on another site I thought I would post it here for some educated analysis.
By all accounts, it has not been manipulated, and it was posted purely as a pic of some friends on a night out, with no comments about its 'oddness' at all. - That was only mentioned later. So, what IS going on in this pic? The more you look the weirder it gets.

I'm guessing there are three of them.
Blowing it up, the bespectacled bloke behind appears to be taking a crafty leak against the wall. |

Could be this new-fangled auto-focus and face-recognition software on modern cameras and phones. We are probably interpreting the clasped hands on the dress as belonging to the invisible bloke (if it is a bloke?) and this suggests a closer embrace of the couple than was the case. I'd guess the hand on the other side actually belongs to the interloping Miss Bigface.
The angle of the bare-back woman confirms that she is not really parallel with the bloke - which she would have to be if the hands were both his! |

Some months(?) ago someone posted a link to a set of such anomalous photos. A number of these photos involved hugs or other close positions such that limbs or a head seemed to belong to the other person.
In this case ... Ms. Red Dress is a blonde, and Ms. White Tee is the brunette whose head is obscuring Ms. Red Dress' head. |

| The girl with the dark hair is hugging at her own shoulder, as part of the embrace. The reason her head looks so abnormally large is because she seems to have long hair, and it's pushed up at the back by the head of the blonde. Which makes her head look much bigger from front to back. |

Yes I think I can see that is probably the solution. No need for a third party. |

I'd agree; odd at first glance - simples once you've done the double take.
I would however add that it almost looks as if blondie is taking the opportunity to have a crafty shuffle around someone's handbag while everyone's been distracted into trying to unfreak the photo. |

There's nowt like reading the first post in a thread is there? I mean, there may be a disclaimer in there or something.

Can I just ask. Is this your 'proof of theory', or merely an attempt at being funny? I'm genuinely not sure which it is???
If the former then are you saying the girl in the pic is disabled? And/or if the latter, that's not really helped my confusion. |

| The more I look at the photo , the more convinced I get is that there are three people there , in a group hug . It's just that we can't see the body of the third person that gives rise to the optical illusion . Still , it's kind of creepy looking though. |

I am tempted back to the party-of-three scenario on the grounds that the tee-shirt person has curly ginger hair and the otherwise-invisible person seems to have straighter, blonde hair. |
