Another thread that got nailed.

IMDB entry:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022913/

I believe there was a discussion on Angelo Rossitto and the fact that he was in Mad Max Beyong Thunderdome:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0744441/

http://gregkrieger.tripod.com/aladamson/angelo/angelo.html

There was also some mention of the lack of resources on Josephine Joseph:

Discussion on Josephine Joseph here:

---------
I'm informed that one of the DVD releases has a documentary on it which discusses the various aspects including Josephine Joseph.

Not sure which one of these it is though:

www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000050YK7/
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005JH9W/

It was done by David Skal who wrote:

Dark Carnival: The Secret World of Tod Browning: Hollywood's Master of the Macabre
David Skal
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385474067/

which Mr. R.I.N.G. refered to in the lost thread I believe.

Greenbriar Picture Shows Blog has an interesting piece on Johnny Eck, the half-man

Despite his unusual condition, he lived to be nearly eighty, often performing with his twin brother, who was normal, enabling some startling effects in magic shows.

John McElwee* hints that Johnny's later life was very sad - despite Tod Browning's wish to make a star of him, it appears he received just $35 for his rĂ´le in Freaks! Johnny's page on Wikipedia gives some of the details which McElwee cannot bear to explain.

*I have been reading the Greenbriar Blog for years without properly understanding the background. Not only is there a real Greenbriar Theatre at the Appalachian State University - but John McElwee paid for it! Now there is dedication to the cause of cinema!
