I was given that for Christmas and it's still on the pile. The one that started me on the topic was one of Martin Fido's - I forget the title (Edit: The Crimes, Detection & Death of...). I believe that the consensus among ripperologists (condradiction in terms?) is that Donald Rumbelow is supposedly the daddy, with Sugden a repectable second. For reference Fido and Begg's A to Z seems to be favourite.

I really enjoy Martin Fido's voice and turn of phrase; his audiobooks and radio shows are all worth your time. I wish I'd had a chance to go on a ripperwalk with him back when he lived in the UK.

Zip back a few years and pick any one with Fido, Begg or Williams - A.P. Wolf is also an entertaining gadfly.
