I think that Shepherd's Neame's Spitfire, is probably about the best bottled beer that I've ever tasted and I include Belgian and German beers in that. It's super strong, but it has a great mellow fresh flavour and goes down a treat. Not too heavy, not too bitter, not too sweet, the right balance. A perfect bitter. It must be the Kentish hops.
Another beer I like is German Hefeweisen. A great summer beer. Slightly heaver tan the Weissbiers. Paulaner, from Munich's nice. I know a place to sit, where I can get one of the half litre bottles and a tall glass to drink it from. Duckstein, is also v.tasty, I tried it on a terrace in a quiet German village north of Berlin, because it sounded like something from the Donald Duck comic.

I drank a bottle of homemade apple wine last night to celebrate the return of the lost Doctor Who episodes.
Don't feel that great today, for some odd reason |

I worked for a sailing school in Ramsgate one season, which gave me many opportunities to try Shepherd Neame's brews. One of my favourite breweries.
But Spitfire, although a great beer, is not "super strong" - it's just 4.5% ABV (unless they do an export version!)
| Quote: | Shepherd Neame is an English regional brewery founded in 1698 in Faversham, Kent.[2] It is the oldest brewer in Great Britain and has been family-owned since 1864.[3] The brewery that produces a range of cask ales and filtered beers. Production is around 230,000 barrels a year. It owns around 360 pubs, predominantly in Kent, London and South East England. The company exports to twenty countries.

Sadly, I can't remember the name of their brew I drank most of - I wonder why...? |

You're right. I missed out the, not. I meant to write that it's not super strong, being only about 4.5% ABV. Which is still quite respectable for a bitter.
Sorry.
But, it's still a great beer. |

Naughty I know, against doctor's orders, but I just drank a bottle of 4 Brothers Strawberry Cider.
Tasted just like fruit juice, only 4% alcohol. |

I love the picture of that bottle above - I read it as Badger Glans.
I deny I ever tasted one of those! And so does my badger! |
