My job centre suit had a security tag left on the jacket, it didnt seem to set off the alarm leaving the shop but the security guard at morrisons pulled me up. Embarassed

I took the jacket to my best friend's house, i held the jacket while he hacksawed of some bits, took a few seconds and i didnt get a facefull of paint.
(i take no responsibility if anybody else does though)

I once bought two bottles of spirits from Asda which, when I got them home and opened the boxes a while later, still had tags on. I didn't bother taking them back. There was no need as the tags didn't stop us pouring from them.

Dunno how I even got them out of the shop in the first place! They must have been deactivated but just not removed.

The bottles eventually went to the bottle bank, still with their tags. Sometimes I wish I'd practiced getting them off just in case that skill ever became important. Wink

I had this problem with a shirt I bought as a present. Never noticed the tag was there until I went to wrap it up!

I took it back to the shop, explained my problem and showed the receipt, and they took it off for me. I think it depends on the shop though.

As for getting it out of the shop, most scanners by the doors don't actually work, they're just there for show.

Cat toys have got a bit weird haven't they?

Smart objectives are pointless. They detract from proper work - indeed it's often just a way of getting you to agree to assign yourself more irrelevant work to do.

Well I finally got around to getting the tag off of my socks, it was a lot less trouble than I'd anticipated.

The spike that goes through the fabric isn't that formidable, only I couldn't get at it as it's attached to a domed metal cap that sits flush with the plastic casing.

Easiest way to get it off was to hold the tag edge on against a stone floor with some sturdy pliers, then whack it repeatedly with a hammer until the casing comes apart, once the tiny mechanism thingy is bashed out the spike is released.

No dye or nasty surprises in it.
