Thank god for that - I thought it was just me having a funny turn.
Felt it here in the Peak District sometime about 00.50 hours. |

Useful site, Kiel - I'll mark it. Never thought I'd need to.
I remember one in the early eighties, when I lived in Southport.
This one tonight seemed rather bigger - it lasted about 15 seconds.
I didn't hear any structural damage - it was eerily quiet. I wonder
if there are any aerial phenomena? |

Still no news on any quake sites ive found...but i have a .gif of some wiggly lines on a seismograph from norway if that floats anyones boat............I can't make head nor tail of it, but i'm assuming wiggly is good.....from our point of view.

Felt it in the midlands as well. Strange day - woken at 6:45 am by a loud rumble ( they were demolishing an old gas tower nearby. Still scary though when you're lying in bed asleep) and now an earthquake. |

I said the background Discord Level was off the scale this week didn't I?
Though UK "earthquakes" are pretty weedy. They had one in Loughborough that made the stamp machine malfunction, and another one that made a man "nearly fall off a ladder."
Shame I missed it. |

I think this is the first time I heard a piece of news on FTMB before I got it from TV or radio! Good stuff!
But as a Fortean, this (from the Beeb link) intigued me: | Quote: | | And two years ago to the day, people in the Midlands were hit by an earthquake centred on Warwick - it measured 4.2 on the Richter scale. |
two years ago to the day ...? Interesting. |

OK...4.8 on the Richter scale centered on Birmingham at 00:54 (damn, must put my clocks foreward one minute )
not well known for our earthquakes i want reasons why. "local fault" is the current theory but here's a good comparison i found on ananova:-
Julian Bukits, an assistant seismologist with the BGS, says an earthquake of magnitude 4 is equivalent to 1,000 tonnes of TNT which is equivalent to the power of a small nuclear weapon.
So nice of Mr. Bukits to make that link at this time of global peace and serenity.....the conspiricy cogs are turning...........
