Manchester University have a good site here: http://www.earth.man.ac.uk/earthquake.php

It has lots of info and appears to be updated more often than any of the other sites (It has the 00.09 tremor I felt)

A prolonged low-level vibration started at 1:28 and continues . . .

From the Manchester Uni. webpage:
Quote:
However, even where chimney stacks, loose tiles or weakly attached cornices on buildings (particularly older ones) have not fallen into the street, there may be some that have been weakened. They may now be ready to fall during winter gales, so building owners might be well-advised to cast an eye over their property for anything that might be weakened or dislodged.
Thought I'd mention that as severe gales are expected this weekend. Crash helmets recommended? Eek Eek

Yes, I think it is this kind of "minor structural damage" which worries
me more than any lurid catastrophic scenarios. A chimney pot through
the roof would be pretty disruptive.

Anyway, another one rocked the house just now at 6:26. Before that,
it seemed to have been a quiet day.

The Manchester Evening News tonight is speculating that the new
stadium may have triggered them. But it is only speculation

But this is an inside half page story now! We seem to be getting used
to the earth moving. Sad

At aproximatly 4 AM this morning I felt a quake in Liverpool, lasted about 15 seconds and was quite obvious. This is the first of the quakes in the area to be felt outside manchester to my knolage.

The 3.9 one was felt in Liverpool, Oll. A relative of mine was several
storeys up at the time. She also heard the booms!

I must have slept through the one this morning. I can sense low-level
vibrations quite a lot of the time, but they are sometimes caused by
an idling taxi or a juggernaut on the main road.

One map of the epicentres on the Manchester Uni site, shows some
of them to be North of Victoria Station. Too close for comfort! Surprised

We're planning to move from the NW to Scotland soon - anybody know what the earthquake situation's like up there?

As far as I know, there haven't been any noticeable earthquakes on the Scottish mainland. Quite a few big ones in the North Sea though, so unless you're moving to a houseboat, you should be ok Wink

Felt pretty much all of the quakes so far....it is pretty weird, but also a bit exciting. I'm in between Stockport and Manchester, so probably got pretty much what other Mancunians felt.

It better not be the BIG ONE, I'm so unprepared *pouts*.

These gales have been pretty nasty, though when I was at the Edge yesterday it wasn't that bad at all. We must have been sheltered by the woods. Still, I wouldn't have to been inside the caves when a quake hit....then again, were the tremors felt in that area?

They appeared to be dying down over the last few days but there
was a smallish one around 12:10 this morning. Now at 4:45 am there
has been another pretty violent one. I'd say it was as big as the one
last Monday! Surprised

The quakes did seem to be fizzling out but there was a very
noticable one just now at 4:12 am - larger than any of the
vibrations over the last week or so. Sad

Now another at around 6:45 pm.
