I don't know if this qulaifies as fortean (feel free to move it to chat if you want mods) but it's certainly odd:

Quote:
TYPED UP BY ME OUT OF MOJO MUSIC MAG - yeah!

Music and animals, it's a heady mix. In Turkey, research in the '70s claimed disco turned mice into homosexuals. Later, in Cambridge labs, gerbils fed speed and forced to listen to the Prodigy died. East Yorkshire goth band Torsohorse continue to innovate in this area. Twice a week they play to 200 sheep belonging to Bridlington dairy farmer Richard Towse, who says his sheep now produce better wool and more lambs. Torsohorse drummer Lianne McGuire is just as enthusiastic: "it was weird playing to a load of sheep, but it's incredible how much they seem to like it."

Meanwhile, two great grandmothers saved themselves from two rogue bull camels [?!WTF? in Australia?] in the Australian desert by playing Janis Joplin to them. Judy Davidson and Fay Howard were trekking through the outback when 35 wild camels [again WTF?] attacked their camp. "We had Janis Joplin tapes playing at full volume and we'd run at them banging pots and pans and swinging firesticks to make as much noise as we could," explained Mrs Davidson. "It was surreal".

There's another thing about Peter gabriel playing music with chimps bu that's not so interesting
roll eyes (sarcastic)

Cows really like music. If any of you townies feel a bit threatened by some cows (they can smell your fear you know), just sing to them.

Short Answer: Yes.

Long answer: There are more wild camels in Australia than in Arabia.

(They were imported there because they are desert animals, and Australia has a lot of desert.)
