GUIDELINES TO NEWS CLIPPERS
Regular clipsters have formed the backbone of Fortean Times since it began in 1973. We are deeply grateful to all those who have sent in news stories over the years and wish it were possible to thank each clipster, some of whom send in large quantities. The only recompense is to see your name in the credits.
Clippings should be sent to: Fortean Times, PO Box 2409, London NW5 4NP. UK
Scanned clippings can be emailed to: sieveking@forteantimes.com
To minimise the time spent on preparing clippings for a Fort-Sort, we ask you to cut out the clippings neatly with scissors and not fold them too small. Ideally, send them flat in an A4 stiff envelope. Mark each clip (on the front, where possible) with the source, date and your name, so that we can credit you when we use the material. Write your name in full unless you send huge numbers of clips, in which case please consult with the editors about the use of initials, in case yours are already being used by another clipper.
Please don't abbreviate the source so much that we have to guess - e.g. 'NST' for New Straits Times.
However, 'Wolv. Exp. & Echo' for Wolverhampton Express & Echo etc. is OK.
Write the date in this form: 10 Jan 1998.
For foreign language clips, we appreciate brief translations.
If you send photocopies, please copy on one side of the paper only. Paper clips are preferable to staples, sticky-tape and 'post-its'. Please try and send clippings within two months of publication, with the exception of interesting archive material, recently discovered or unearthed.
