Lesbian Vampire Killers

UK Release Date: 20-03-2009
UK Certificate: 15
Director: Phil Claydon
Country: UK
Rating:

British horror comedy for the lads

Lesbian Vampire Killers is the latest in the slew of post-Shaun of the Dead British horror comedies; this one is particularly close to the archetype in plot while being particularly distant from it in wit and intelligence. It stars James Corden and Matthew Horne, from TV sitcom Gavin & Stacey, as a pair of losers who drive out to a rural backwater to dribble over attractive girls and crack knob jokes. While not exactly a knowing, innovative genre parody, Lesbian Vampire Killers is a throwaway gross-out movie aimed squarely at its target teen demographic, and works fine on those terms.
