SCI-FI-LONDON is the UK's only dedicated science fiction and fantastic film festival. The five-day event boasts world and UK premieres of films whose subjects range from a vengeful Russian warrior (Wolfhound) to a Japanese superhero with bad PR, a senile grandfather and an estranged wife (Dai-Nipponjin) and a Cambridge academic who turns into Aleister Crowley (Chemical Wedding). These are screening alongside a range of genre classics, documentaries and shorts.
Other festival highlights include the Arthur C Clarke Award for Science Fiction Literature, RedBull and ice cream-fuelled all-nighters, filmmaking events, and a test-screening of 'science fiction documentary' Babeldom, a portrait of a future city narrated by one of its citizens.
The 7th London International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film runs Wed 30 April - Sun 4 May 2008 at the Apollo West End cinema, Regent Street, London SW1. Visit the festival website for ticket information and full programme listings.
