Irish Gods Come Back to Life: AE and the Tuatha Dé Danann
Talk by Dr Mark Williams (Peterhouse, Cambridge) on how Irish mythic gods the Tuatha Dé Danann have been envisioned, recreated and appropriated during the 20th century.

4 Dragon Boat Regatta
Dragon boat racing, an ancient Chinese tradition, comes to London this month. Watch from the banks of the Thames as teams of 20 paddlers with a drummer at the helm compete in boats decorated with dragon heads.

7 - 8 Fiestas del Diablo
Canary Islands festival featuring a local in a flame-spitting, firework-spraying devil costume, who invades the town of Tijarafe only to be driven away, in honour of the Virgin, Nuestra Senora de Candelaria.

11 Cambridge Dragon Boat Festival
This festival is open to everyone, with more than 50 crews regularly registering to battle it out over the 250m dragon boat race course. The festival will also include a funfair, roadshow and Chinese lion dancing.
