"Admission All Classes", is an ambitious 15-month project made possible by a partnership between Blackpool Council and the National Fairground Archive. The archive’s director, Dr Vanessa Toulmin (who herself comes from a Lancashire fairground family), has curated the project with the Whoopee Club, a top cabaret and burlesque agency based in London. She will give an illustrated lecture on side shows called "Freaks, Geeks and Wild Women" on Saturday 28th July at 6pm in the Grand Theatre Studio and Cyril Critchlow, billed as the world’s oldest magician, will talk about the great days of the Golden Mile in the 1950s on Sunday 29th July.
